Hutchinson House at Old Edwards Inn

Today, we are taking a look back at a beautiful spring wedding I captured last year. This heartfelt day took place at the Hutchinson House at Old Edwards Inn. This portion of the venue offers an intimate setting, surrounded by lush woods. It couldn’t be better for an outdoor celebration. The couple’s classic and romantic style highlighted their dream day effortlessly. If you are saying “I do” during this season, I can’t wait to share this spring wedding inspiration with you. Let’s begin!

Getting Ready

The Hutchinson House is a four-bedroom, private farmhouse onsite at the venue. This made getting ready a breeze! The couple got ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. I loved snapping photos of each group for this special time of the day. Getting ready alongside your bridal party is such a memorable moment! Pro tip from a wedding photographer: offer snacks, drinks, and gifts for your bridal party during the morning of your event. This is a wonderful way to show your appreciation and ensure everyone is comfortable for the busy (yet exciting!) day.

Couple Photos

Many of my clients decide to capture couple photos before the festivities begin. This could look like getting ready together, choosing a first look, or even scheduling a session before the wedding day. There is no rule book for what you should do! Speak with your wedding vendors and ultimately choose a timeline that feels best for you and your future spouse.

This couple decided to share a first look and exchanged gifts with each other before the ceremony. They explored the stunning property surrounding the venue for photography. Look at all of that lush greenery and bright light! Springtime is one of my favorite seasons for photographing weddings. I also captured portraits of the bride and groom individually during this time. Their styles were chic, elegant, and oh so romantic.

Ceremony

Now, for the big moment! The outdoor ceremony took place at an open onsite lawn. Since there is so much greenery and trees, the couple kept the decor minimal. A classic wooden cross decorated with blush florals and eucalyptus offered just the right amount of design! The couple said “I do” and then it was time for the party.

Bridal Party

While guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers during cocktail hour, I captured a few more photos! Cocktail hour is often the time to gather your family and bridal party for photography. Look at this stylish group. While the couple selected a soft and neutral color palette, they incorporated some pops of color for the season. Baby blues and blush tones complimented the look for the day. The bridesmaids wore full-length, baby blue gowns with the maid and matron of honor wearing floral printed gowns with the same tone. The groomsmen wore classic black tuxes!

Reception

If you are planning an outdoor reception, it is always a good idea to host it under a partially covered area. In the case of inclement weather, you will be prepared. You and your guests will remain comfortable if the temperature is warmer during the spring season as well. This reception took place under a gazebo with string lights. How dreamy?
