It’s officially wedding season! I’m having so much fun celebrating the amazing couples I work with. One of my favorite aspects of being a wedding photographer is that I often photograph the couple and get to know them beyond their big day. Sometimes this includes a bridal session or post-wedding photoshoot. Most of the time, this looks like capturing their engagement photos.
So, this time of year can also be called engagement session season for those planning their fall wedding the following year. Keep reading for inspiration from a dream fall engagement session at Biltmore Estate!
The Venue
Biltmore Estate is a great venue to consider for an engagement session. There are so many different locations onsite and the grounds transform according to the season. That means you will see the changing leaves in the background for this particular session! Biltmore Estate is located in Asheville, North Carolina. Even if you are not local to the area, it is worth the trip!
You can find more information about Biltmore Estate on their website. I also wrote an entire blog about the venue highlighting what you need to know when it comes to planning your engagement session or wedding here!
The Conservatory & Gardens
We started the day in the Conservatory which is a haven of botanical plants. If you are a plant person, this is the place for you! The Conservatory offers the perfect location for those seeking the look of a greenhouse engagement session. For this portion of the day, the couple wore casual and neutral outfits. I love the way they honored the season with elements like a textural vest and chic boots in their attire. The green tones from the foliage framed the couple naturally. The most important part – the couple had so. much. fun!
To wrap up the first part of their engagement session, we headed outside for some photos at the gardens. Notice how those colorful blooms coordinate with the fall season? The Biltmore Estate puts so much care and attention into the grounds of their venue. Even for your engagement session, it is important to research the location(s) you are planning on for the day.

The Biltmore House
The couple got dressed up for the second portion of their engagement session. We captured some more photos on the grounds and then adventured to The Biltmore House onsite! If you want to feel like royalty during your engagement photos, this aspect of the venue is something you must include in your photography list. The Biltmore House offers a unique architectural backdrop without needing to travel to another location.
If you loved reading about this day but want to know how to plan your own engagement session, I recommend starting with your inspiration. Pin your favorite outfit ideas and venue settings on Pinterest to share with your photographer. You can also gather ideas from the season just like this couple.
