I have a confession. I hate (HATE) having my pictures made. I understand the need, the desire and the value of being in pictures, and creating tangible memories. That doesn’t mean I have to like it. Being a photographer makes this all the more ridiculous, as I am not one to practice what I preach. That being said, sometimes it is necessary to get in front of the camera ALONE ::shivers:: for professional headshots. I had the honor of providing this service for one of my very best friends (and an awesome Charleston wedding photographer) Stefanie. The time we spent on her headshots, and others…as you’ll see in a few days…was fun, full of laughter and general silliness, much like our friendship and day-to-day interactions. When I look at these images, I see my friend. I see her beauty that shines from within, and most of all, I see her joy. This is why it is important to get in front of someone else’s camera. Just to have fun and be yourself and see what we all see every day.
