I’m going to try to be better about sharing what I’m up to, even if the finished product isn’t necessarily ready for the world. Does that ever stop you? I actually have a horrible time sharing anything until it feels “ready” and I think that is holding me back in some areas of my life and business. So, with that said, let’s start with what I did this weekend.
If you live on or near the East Coast, you probably heard about Hurricane Joaquin. Well, I was not one of the lucky photographers that got to stay at home and cuddle while it rained. In South Carolina we got absolutely destroyed by the rain, but I was very lucky to be further west shooting a destination wedding at The Vineyards at 37 High Holly in Highlands, NC. Highlands is basically right over the NC/GA border on the very very western part of NC. In fact, I drove mostly through SC to get there (confusing, I know). Anyway, my clients had spent more than a year planning a beautiful country vineyard wedding…and then at the last minute almost every single detail had to be reworked in order to escape the downpours. I’m sure that although this was not plan A, the wedding was a beautiful affair with SO MUCH LOVE being shared.
I drove through the night Saturday after the wedding to get home…Sunday was my 7th wedding anniversary and I didn’t want to spend it driving! I was in for a surprise though when I woke up Sunday morning and my husband’s face was completely swollen and extremely red. He looked like he had just gone 12 rounds with Rocky Balboa. So, off he went to the urgent care 🙁 Needless to say we didn’t have a very romantic wedding anniversary…but honestly it was nice to just lay around and listen to the rain. Marriage is seldom as glamorous as it looks in the movies!!! (he is fine, just has poison ivy).
This week I am editing weddings from the last two weeks, planning the fall mini sessions and running the kids around town! Just living the life, people. Living the life 😉
xoxo,
Amy
