I’m still a little girl when I watch ballet. I love the balance and poise, the lovely lines and angles that are formed by impossibly graceful movements. If I’m completely honest, I’ve always been a bit jealous…long legs and balance are two things that I am certainly lacking! When I heard from Emma’s mom about doing her Charlotte senior photography session I was so excited to hear that she had limited availability due to her rigorous dance class schedule. “Oh, she’s a dancer?” {squuuueeeeeee} “I think we can make it work ;)”
NoDa is without a doubt one of my favorite Uptown Charlotte locations to shoot. The neighborhood is eclectic, friendly and colorful. The residents and regulars are quite accustomed to seeing photographers on their streets and so it becomes less of a hassle to make your way through the blocks when the natives are paying zero attention to me laying in the middle of the sidewalk! We lucked out and got a nice, sunny Carolina day. Emma brought a whole trunk full of clothing choices (really!) and we decided which outfits we would use as we stood there looking at our backdrops. We had fun, I learned a bit about dance…such as “do one of those pretty jump-y things?” HAHA, I know you dance people are laughing at me, but I really have no clue other than it looks great 😉
