Hi, I'm Amy.

dream destination wedding

How do you compile a list of wishes and dreams that isn’t simply another person’s dreams already fulfilled?

I have so many dreams. Dream destination weddings, dream vacations, dream clients. But I also have reality. I have a real family with two very real little children and a real husband, real parents and in-laws, most at least 8 hours away. I know that there is a place for dreaming and chasing dreams and I live in the place as often as possible. I also believe that my dreams are sometimes sleeping in the next room, or lying (albeit rather squirmishly) next to me on the couch.

My greatest dream is to do what I love WITH the people I love. I want to travel the world WITH MY FAMILY. (okay so not all the time, but a lot) I want to be sitting next to my husband on a train laughing about how Lily skipped through the mirrored halls of Versailles like she always knew she should. I want to sprawl on the cool ground of the desert in Joshua Tree WAAAAAAY past bedtime and stare into the sky while William studies the stars he loves so much.

But, you see, in my dreams I’m also cheering from the audience at a poorly produced Christmas pageant, and dotting flour on noses beneath warm kitchen lights while a little girl snags an extra fingertip full of that yummy dough. I’m traveling to familiar places that smell like second homes and sound like my beating heart. My dreams often bring me right back to where I am or where I’ve been, and who I am.

I AM HUMAN. I am sooooo very human. I let my wildest dreams bring me guilt and my present reality bring me jealousy. But I refuse to let my dreams exist only in the latest hours and by the light of my trusty Notes app. I have plenty of “baggage” if you will…but I hear they let you check your bags these days 😉

My WILDEST dreams (right this second):

*Paris in spring

*NYC in fall

*Shoot something EPIC in Colorado while we are there this summer

*Sunrise elopement on the coast

*Go on an African safari

*Put on a huge, overly expensive gown and dance through the halls of a French chateau

*Chase waterfalls

My BIGGEST goals (right this second):

*travel a lot and shoot everywhere like I live there

*write more openly and without hesitation

*finally get my personal project going

*put more time into making dreams happen

  1. Michele says:

Wow, yes to all of it! We share a lot of the same aspirations and dreams! I hope you get to travel more of the world with your family. It’s one of my favorite things!

  2. Oooh you’ve just sparked my wanderlust even more! I was just in NYC this fall and it was so beautiful! I definitely need to do Paris in the spring too!

  3. Great dreams, goals, photos and writing.

Suggest adding upper New England in the fall to your list… and stop by Rhode island on the way to see the Newport mansions.

    May you achieve your dreams…

  4. Meg Kerns says:

Your dreams are so inspiring and yet attainable. I hope you achieve ALL of them. You deserve it and your photos are amazing. Keep going. We can’t wait to follow your journey.

  5. Ashton says:

This is a beautiful posts and I hope you achieve all of these dreams! It’s a wonderful thing to share, and to want to share it with your family. I think that’s awesome, and I completely empathize with that goal! I host a strand of traveling Retreats and although none of these locations are currently on our tour, we’d love to have you come along with us… and I can assure you dancing in big gowns is a must! 😉

  6. Keep taking steps towards those goals!!

  7. I love this so much! I think as mommas we sometimes let our own dreams fade. I try to fight to make sure that doesn’t happen, but it’s hard. Thanks for all of this!

  8. I love this! It is so important to walk through life with a healthy dose of gratitude for the reality we live in. But it is equally important to reach for the stars and have wild dreams, things that make our hearts sing at the mere thought of.

  9. Valerie says:

I love you goals and dreams! Wishing you a wonderful 2017!

  10. Valerie says:
