Family to me is my heart, my soul. My favorite view of family is always the moments. The tender, little moments that we might not remember a year from now. My kids think I’m crazy, and, well…so does my husband, but I try to document THESE moments more so then the other more predictable moments. I know that I will remember his first “____” and her first “____”, but will I remember the way her tender curls moved through the Dominican air during her first international trip?
We spent a week in the Dominican and I tried hard to keep the camera out of my hand when it wasn’t being used for business. I did make some exceptions, however, for the beach. I love the freedom of the beach and how much joy just being near the water brings to my little family.
I had a little scare when we got home and I sent this film out to be developed and scanned…it took about 7 days longer than it should have to arrive and I was sure that I would never see it again. All of my images would have been lost, the downside of film I guess.
