When Tina from A Simple Affair Events contacted me about photographing a New Year’s Even winter wedding at Myers Park Presbyterian in Charlotte, I was intrigued. AND THEN she told me that the couple weren’t the average couple. Gunar and Vickie fell in love later and life and as Gunar said during his welcome at the reception…he knows that God spent a little more time on Vickie, to make her his perfect match. Watching the two of them dance together literally moved many of us to tears. Gunar is a professional ballroom dance instructor and choreographed their first dance beautifully. The most magical part of the dance, however, was how their faces lit up each time they turned back towards one another. Love is truly timeless.
The ceremony was held in Myers Park at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, a lovely stone and stained glass sanctuary. When a little bit of a hiccup occurred, i.e., the fire alarm sounded just as Vickie made her way down the aisle, everyone kept their calm. The vows were exchanged nonetheless and the evening went on in joyous and loving fashion. Beautiful (and delicious) food was served by Maggiano’s…and let me tell you something, when during your first meeting with a client they tell you that you are to be treated as a guest at their reception and eat along with their friends and family, that my friends is true client looooove. <3
It was a beautiful, intimate wedding and I was honored to have played a part in documenting such a sweet love story!
