As Seen in Bridal Musings
“When dreaming up a design scheme or theme for your wedding decor it can be hard to know where to start. Choosing a design piece, pattern or textile you love can be a great way to build your entire event design, tablescapes and even inspire your cake! Today’s styled shoot features wedding ideas and inspired by vintage china – pretty, blue white and gold antiques that evoke romance and luxury.
The dainty patterns in the iconic Toile de Jouy pattern are mimicked by delicate blue-hued wildflowers, including trendy blue thistle and pops of pink. Fine cursive lines fit perfectly in the wedding design across the stationery and paper goods.
The exquisitely painted cake ties the whole shoot together. Magnifying the Toile de Jouy pattern, the classic white cake is made vintage thanks to the delicate and nostalgic China pattern.
This beautiful shoot drew inspiration from the vintage Toile de Jouy pattern found in China. As the team worked to put together the shoot, a story about the couple started to unfold. The couple is in love but they were separated by distance and the couple stayed connected by writing each other love letters. The morning of the wedding they write each other their final letter before becoming husband and wife.
The team used the timeless vintage detail of the blue and white pattern with a mix of modern elements to showcase that you can mix old and new. The tablescape is perfectly styled for a romantic dinner by candlelight. The layering of the pattern along with the free-flowing florals and white and gold flatware adds a modern touch that creates a harmonious balance. One of the favorite details of the shoot was the single layer cake that was delicately hand painted and fit right in with the intimate affair. From the calligraphy and stationery to the organic flowers and lace gown this was truly a shoot ripped from the pages of your favorite romance novel.”
