I was told recently by a client and friend that being around me while I am in “the zone” is the happiest he’d ever seen me, and that it’s obvious that I’ve found my calling. I don’t think he realized just how significant of a compliment that was and how close I was to tears in that moment. But, you see, it had me so close to tears because it was 100% true and it was the first time anyone had ever spoken those words (including myself). This Glencairn Garden engagement session could be presented as Exhibit A, if you’re looking for proof.
If I’m being honest, sometimes my job is just really really easy. It is easy when my clients trust me to do my job, and also when they find me funny 😉 If you ask my husband…I am the least funny person on Earth! John and Que were so very easy to work with and so much fun to be around. We all know that unless you are a professional model you don’t exactly feel comfortable when someone has a camera aimed at you. It’s perfectly natural to feel a bit camera shy at first! That is why, in my opinion, engagement sessions are SO important.
John and Que were smiling and laughing within moments and as you can see below, they continued for the rest of the evening. I might be a bit silly but the chemistry that these two have cannot be manufactured, no matter how many corny jokes I make. My point is, don’t lose hope! Maybe you think you are awkward, or goofy or whatever else that little person inside your head tells you…but you aren’t! You are perfect and it is my favorite thing to do to make pictures that look just like YOU!!!!
