I’m so happy to share this wedding! It was my first Uptown Charlotte Greek Orthodox wedding and I had such a great time!!! As you can imagine, lots of beautiful details to photograph, and very exciting dancing too!
The Winter Charlotte Engagement Session
If you’ll recall, this past fall was CRAZY rainy. It seemed like the rain waited all week just to ruin every weekend. Emily & Zac were driving into town specifically for their engagement session so we had to make sure the weather would cooperate with us before they drove to Charlotte for nothing! So, we ended up having to reschedule our session several times, and it went from fall leaves, to beautiful winter sun! It was an amazing day in December, the Christmas trees were already out, but so was the beautiful sun. We went to one of my favorite places and I fell in love with this laid back couple.

This Uptown Charlotte Greek Orthodox wedding was so much fun to photograph. I knew that Emily and Zac were good people, but after their wedding I can totally see where it comes from! Their families are so kind and loving. Emily had just graduated from college two weeks prior to her wedding, and so she naturally had a lot of help from her mother in planning such a huge day so close to another huge day for her! They had guests from as far away as Romania, so obviously this union was exciting for the whole family. I am not going to lie, after having attended other Greek weddings, I was expecting many broken plates and chair dances…but luckily for my crocs, no dishes were harmed in this celebration. Maybe a few dizzy photographers, though!
It also seems to be a tradition now that rain comes once everyone is safely tucked inside the reception. It came down hard and fast, and my talented friend and second shooter Jamie got an amazing rain image…one that she has been wanting to get so badly, and I’m so happy that Emily and Zac are the kind of people that trusted us when we asked them to play a bit in the rain!
