Today we are looking back at a classic North Carolina wedding. I absolutely love the local city and it was perfect for Leigh Ann and Raj to celebrate their wedding day. After an intimate ceremony, they took the party to 220 North Tryon in uptown Charlotte. The creative, bright colors at their venue in the city were so beautiful. If you are planning a spring wedding or simply need inspiration for a colorful wedding palette, this is the wedding for you. Ready for more details? Keep reading!
Stationery & Details
As a wedding photographer, it is a joy to capture every detail. At the beginning of each wedding day, I make sure to grab copies of your wedding stationery, florals, wedding rings, and more. Leigh Ann and Raj’s invitations were an elegant black and white print with a minimalistic design. They paired so well with the bright floral details for flat lay photography. I mean, just look at Leigh Ann’s bouquet! The fresh greenery and pop of fuchsia to pastel yellow and peach were breathtaking. I love getting a sneak peek into what the reception will look like while capturing these start of the day photos. While the bride got ready for her special day, I captured her and the groom’s wedding accessories.
First Look
Leigh Ann and Raj decided to include a first look into their day before the ceremony. After adding the final touches to their wedding day look, they met outside of their ceremony site. The exposed brick and natural courtyard of the traditional church was perfect for this moment. A first look not only calms any pre-wedding nerves but can provide more time later for you and your partner to relax. I capture ‘newlywed’ photos as well as portraits beforehand with a first look. Then, later in the day, you do not have to worry about the majority of your couple’s photos!
The Ceremony
The architecture of the church ceremony site added historical charm to this Charlotte wedding day. The stained glass windows and intricate design were classically romantic. Tip from a wedding photographer: If you cannot decide on your wedding venue, why not choose multiple locations? Often, the best fit for the ceremony can be vastly different than what is best for your ideal reception. It’s your day so make it exactly what you want. Plus, your guests will love the excitement of different venues!
Reception Decor
This reception was truly a party! As soon as arriving at the industrial venue, the refreshing colorful spring-inspired palette swept the room. Guests’ tables featured a fresh floral arrangement along with romantic gold votives. Lush greenery leaves and floating glass candles were a simple and beautiful addition. After the bride and groom cut their 4-tiered cake, we made sure to sneak up to the rooftop of the venue for more photography. The view of the city was one of the main attractions for this couple’s venue choice. They shared drinks and spent the rest of the night dancing with guests.
