As a wedding guest, you also want to feel special for the newlywed’s event! Finding the right outfit is an exciting part of being invited to any wedding. If you recently received an invitation in the mail for a spring wedding, you might already be thinking about what to wear.

Consider the location first. Is it an outdoor wedding? What will the weather be like? In the springtime, these are highly important aspects of picking a wedding outfit. When choosing your seasonal style for the wedding, also factor in the formality of the event. Sometimes, the soon-to-be-wed couple will specify on their invitations and stationery what the dress code is. This will help you choose an outfit that fits your personal style but also matches the occasion.

As a photographer, I also recommend testing out how your style ideas look in photos. Snap quick images of your possible outfit choices to see if they still translate the same in photography. So, plan in advance! If you are attending the wedding with a date, coordinate your outfits together. To make the process easier, today I am sharing 5 of my absolute favorite spring wedding attire ideas for guests!

A Pop of Color

If you love the colors of spring, why not include them in your spring wedding outfit? To make a statement, choose one color that you want to wear and pick a monotone outfit to match. Keep the patterns and textures minimal in order to let your outfit shine. Your partner or date may choose to wear complimenting neutral or even delicate pastel colors. For extra fun, add in a printed shoe! With spring, you can’t go wrong with a classic floral. This keeps your outfit minimal while still adding an unique accessory.

Textures & Patterns

While you may opt-out of wearing a bright pop of color, this offers the opportunity to get creative with textures and patterns! Mix and match different options with both of your spring looks if attending the wedding as a pair. Just be sure to choose the same color palette in order to remain cohesive. Intricate embroidery, florals, and plaid are perfect for this style choice.

Boho Casual

If you will be celebrating at a backyard wedding or intimate elopement, this look is for you! There is something so romantic about a flowy boho dress. Jeans are even perfectly acceptable and can look so stylish for this casual option. They can be dressed up with a more formal button-up shirt. With a boho style, off-the-shoulder dresses and natural floral patterns are stunning choices. Choose earth tone colors or bright and airy tones to compliment your style inspiration.

Classic Modern

If you will be attending a city wedding in the spring, you might gravitate towards a more modern style. To capture the season, you could pick more artistic and abstract-inspired floral patterns. Invest in a chic pair of shoes that you know you will want to wear again! Keeps things minimal choosing your accessories sparingly. Colors like navy are a classic option to consider incorporating into your moder spring style.

Neutral & Elegant

Who says you can’t wear black in spring? Neutral colors are so elegant and the perfect black sundress can be absolutely stunning for a spring wedding. Choose seasonal forward silhouettes if you are selecting a cooler color palette. Your partner might choose to wear a modern patterned shirt in a lighter neutral to add dimension to your look.  This is a wonderful style choice because you can add layers later to wear the outfits again in the cooler months.
