I cannot wait to share this bridal session with you! I met the bride, Julia, at her wedding venue for some pre-wedding photos. This is a great way to save time on your wedding day by capturing photos of your look earlier. Also, it offers more time for you to get creative during your shoot. Julia was able to capture two different beauty looks and we even brought in one of my hand-painted backdrops for some of her portraits!
Your bridal session photos will compliment your wedding gallery and can make a sweet day-of wedding gift to your future spouse. Not to mention, in the case of rain or inclement weather, you won’t have to worry about your bridal photos. It actually ended up raining on Julia’s wedding day! We were so happy to have captured these photos in advance. Let’s take a look at this creative and modern summer bridal session on this blog!
The Looks
Julie chose a modern and romantic look for her bridal session. Her off-the-shoulder gown is truly so unique! She styled her dress with some statement silver earrings with a feather design. Then, she kept the rest of her accessories simple with a delicate bracelet and white heels. For her bouquet, she added in pops of the summer season with a mix of blush tones, yellows, peach, and green.
To create two different looks for photography, Julia began the day with a beautiful half up half down hairstyle. Then, she let her hair down in natural waves. Her soft glam makeup flawlessly ties her style together. If you are planning a bridal session, keep your “day-off” wedding plans in mind. Like Julia, if you plan on featuring a different look at any portion of the day, you might want to also include this in your bridal photos. Of course, you can choose to wear an exclusive look for your bridal session!
The Locations
Look at how versatile this location is! We adventured through the entire venue for indoor and outdoor photos. This venue is full of lush greenery and charming architecture. We planned this session earlier in the day so the sun was shining bright through the entire shoot! Julia was able to pose at the many different onsite locations AND change into her different looks.
Pro tip: Be sure to account for hair and makeup and changing into your outfits for your bridal session. Communicate with all of the different vendors involved about what you will need for the day. Will your beauty team be meeting you onsite? Will you be picking up your bouquet? As a photographer, I always work with my clients to create the best photography timeline and plan for the day. Remember, your bridal session should be fun!
Hand Painted Backdrop
This hand painted backdrop deserves its own section. Look how cool it looks surrounded by the wooded landscape at the venue? I loved offering these different photo options for Julia.
