Hi there! Welcome to the  journal about our lives, travels, fashion, and style. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Amy.

I may be a wedding photographer and not a calligrapher or stationer, but I LOVE paper products.  I love styling them and I love sending and receiving them.  Especially when they are beautiful and easily accessible.  When Basic Invite asked me if I’d like to photograph some of their personalized wedding invitations and share my thoughts with my clients, I was very excited!  It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to select save the dates and wedding invitations!

So, the first thing I noticed was how easy it was to upload a hi-res photo.  You’d be surprised.  I often hear complaints that it takes forever to upload high-quality photos for photo products elsewhere and you just can’t use something low resolution and expect it to look good in print.  From there, the options are enormous!  There are so many different designs and the color options WITHIN the designs that it makes it virtually impossible for any two invitations to be the same.

After I decided on the designs I wanted to use and uploaded a couple of my fabulous couples’ photos to play stationery models it was very easy to select the different paper options and order custom samples.  I was able to choose a magnet for one of the save the date options, and then a bold “on trend” purple envelope to go with another invitation.  I selected different envelope liners for each set as well.

The other thing that is exciting, I think, is that you are also able to make your own free wedding websites which is the best way to display all of your beautiful photographs in a central place!  You can select from many different themes to compliment your wedding design AND collect your addresses direct from your guests to help maintain some sanity.

Let me know what you think about the selections below!  I’ve listed above each set what my exact choices were for color, paper, etc so you’ll be able to see for yourself:
