Katie & Nate’s Engagement Session At The Blue Ridge Mountains

Katie and Nate are avid backpackers and wanted their engagement session to be more than just “pretty pictures”. They wanted to incorporate their love for the outdoors and especially wanted it to be at a meaningful place they had both spent time together. With that in mind, we packed up the car and drove the three hours to the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains in order to make some special memories and beautiful photos to remember the day by.

The fall foliage at the Blue Ridge Mountains is one of the most remarkable sites in the world and was the perfect backdrop for this September engagement session. Halfway through the day, we stumbled upon some wild ponies in the hills, everyone was absolutely giddy with excitement. It was evident that these precious guys see plenty of visitors as they were not a bit shy.

After several shots and lot’s of laughs, we finished our hike shortly after dark and were able to see ridges as far as the horizon would allow. I absolutely loved my time with this couple in the most perfect setting. It’s obvious that they know each other and their relationship so well. Enjoy this little peek from our session!

Simply gorgeous! Katie and Nate sound like such a great couple – hiking in the mountains for their photos is such a cool idea! I love the shots of them along the wooden fence, especially. It draws the eye in really nicely. Well done, they must have loved getting these!
