I loved how Hannah and Sidney wanted classic with a twist to match their amazing personalities.  Obviously, being a Charlotte wedding photographer, I have the pleasure of photographing Uptown Charlotte engagement pictures on the regular.  What I loved about these Uptown Charlotte engagement pictures was that we were able to include some of the most sought after locations in the city, but also go off the beaten path a bit and find some character.  It is fun to compliment that Charlotte charm we are already so proud of!

Hannah and Sidney met in college and are very proud of their days at Ole Miss.  It was great to see them lighten up a bit and change into their jerseys for the last light of the day, in the perfect spot in NoDa.  From to classic little black dress and suit to black leather and stilettos the fashion matched each of our locations perfectly.  That is something I literally worry about every session and spend a good deal of time talking about with every couple.

Uptown Charlotte Engagement Pictures Tips

Here’s what I think: Pick out your location first.  Know where you want to shoot, find a spot (or two) that matches your “vibe”.  THEN start working on the fashion.  You have to match the location and your outfits or else you’ll look like a fish out of water!  For Uptown Charlotte there is so much versatility between the smaller neighborhoods.  The green parks and stone buildings will always lend a classic vibe to any photo.  If you wander around a bit though, you’ll find beautiful street art and murals that can give you that desired edge!
