Kirby & Brian’s Classic Uptown Charlotte Wedding

With touches of navy and burgundy wine, this classic Uptown Charlotte wedding was a dream to photograph. Kirby and Brian began their wedding day by getting ready at The Hilton in beautiful suites with large windows and abundant natural light. We were hoping for a day full of sun, and luckily the clouds only came in for a few minutes and left us with a truly gorgeous Charlotte day!

An Emotional Uptown Charlotte First Look

As we were walking over to The Green for Brian and Kirby’s first look, Kirby told me that Brian is her “tall sensitive guy” and that she knew he would be overwhelmed by emotion on their wedding day. She knew that having a private first look would help calm the wedding day nerves for everyone. It turns out that no one knows better, because this was SUCH an emotional moment that I am so glad to have been witness to. With a church ceremony and rules keeping me far in the back, I knew that being able to capture these sweet moments up close and in person would be crucial.

Classic Ceremony at Covenant Presbyterian

After having such an emotional first look and spending the time before the ceremony together, the ceremony still held much emotion. Brian shed tears as Kirby was escorted down the long aisle by her father to join him. The couple shared their vows, enjoyed a solo from Kirby’s uncle and shared their first kiss before the church congregation. The smiles on the way down the aisle were a welcome sight, and I think a bit of a release!

Romantic Candlelit Reception at The Big Chill

The reception started out on a very high note, with Kirby and Brian treating their guests to a special choreographed first dance set to a song that always gets me! The dance floor was never empty for the rest of the night! It was hard to determine if we were at a wedding reception or a live concert, the music and interaction was just SO GOOD. From a special performance by the groom, to a daring round of limbo on the dance floor. This Uptown Charlotte wedding reception was the epitome of wedding entertainment!
