Biltmore Engagement Photos
A dreamy engagement photo session at The Biltmore Estate
When Brian, Ashley and I met to discuss their wedding and engagement photos we ended up spending 3 hours chatting about everything in between as well. I learned about Ashley’s insane green thumb and gardening skills as well as their joint love of the outdoors! That led to a conversation about how they would like their engagement session to be both and mini-adventure but still beautiful. I think exploring the vast acreage of The Biltmore Estate and gardens in heels is an adventure for sure!
I remember moving to The Carolinas and visiting The Biltmore Estate for the first time. It was like my heart had found its happy place! Besides the obvious (the gorgeous private home) the grounds are expansive and ever-changing. I’ve never seen them look the same twice. Did you know that The Biltmore Estate is the largest privately-owned home in the country? Each season brings a new look for the home and for the lands, with so many little spots to explore. I love taking Biltmore engagement photos on the grounds for this reason. When I go to the Biltmore Estate I know that I won’t see something I’ve already seen or photographing my couple somewhere I’ve already photographed before.
The must-have Biltmore Engagement Photos
Of course, there are always a few photos that you HAVE to get when you chose to have your engagement pictures taken at an iconic location. For me, the couple in front of the house is just such a classic Biltmore photo that you can’t do without. I love to mix in a little classic with a lot of fun for each engagement session and make sure that the couple really has a chance to relax and shine. I know that Brian and Ashley were able to be themselves with me because we spent so much time getting to know each other even before being in front of the camera, and then we got to spend another few hours exploring the Biltmore Estate again.
One of the biggest surprises was finding a gorgeous field of blooming wildflowers in late October! The light was hitting the field just right and I was in heaven! I love that Ashley and Brian were just as excited as I was and even agreed to get cozy in the middle of the flowers for some photos. To end the session we each had a nice glass of red wine from The Antler Hill Village to toast to a successful day!
