Sarah and Richard’s Glamorous Blush and Gray Cloth Mill Wedding
This was my first Cloth Mill wedding and I must say, I fell in love with the wedding venue right away! I knew that Sarah was hoping to compliment the industrial venue with her glamorous style and the combination of the two was done perfectly. String lights, gorgeous florals AND THAT DRESS!! Everything came together just beautifully, we even escaped the rain for the perfect fall wedding day in Raleigh.
The weekend began at Sarah’s father’s home where they celebrated a backyard rehearsal dinner with close family and friends. This was the perfect event to kick off the festivities, and for me it was wonderful to be there and to meet everyone before the wedding day! With a large bridal party (13 bridesmaids!!!) it is imperative that communication is efficient on a wedding day and meeting the family and bridesmaids before made that possible!
The weather might have been overcast, but we were able to use that to our advantage. Sometimes the sun will limit our ability to photograph in certain areas of a venue, but with the clouds helping us out, we photographed along the gorgeous old brick facade of the Cloth Mill and avoided harsh shadows and squinty eyes! Everyone looked so stunning in a neutral color palette complimented by gorgeous florals.
An emotional first look and ceremony
Sarah and Richard opted to see each other prior to the ceremony so that we could photograph all of the bridal party photos beforehand. This allowed their bridal party to enjoy the cocktail hour AND for us to capture a surprisingly emotional moment between the bride and groom. Not only was the first look emotional, but also the ceremony was full of tears and poignant moments of joy between the two. Sarah chose not to see her father until the very moment he began walking her down the aisle and that proved to also be a tearful moment. Like I said, plenty of emotion for everyone!
Planning thoughts on Sarah & Richard’s Cloth Mill wedding
Sarah knew that she needed help to execute her vision perfectly while still being present and stress-free on her wedding day. She hired the incomparable Amanda Blair and of course the execution was flawless. Some thoughts from Amanda on the wedding: “Sarah and Richard brought on ABBD a few months before the wedding to execute the final details! We jumped right in and assisted on a few final design decisions, as well as creating a layout! Sarah had the vision, and we loved being a sounding board for her in the weeks leading up to the wedding! Martha with Artfully Arranged truly outdid herself on the florals – the ceremony arbor by far being my favorite! Sarah was so organized, prompt, and we absolutely loved working with her!”
