Kelly & Matt chose the Blue Ridge Mountains because they have always been one of their go to adventure spots. In her own words, Kelly said “the peaceful feeling that we have when we are in the mountains reminds us of the ease and peace we feel in our relationship and therefore we just knew we had to get our pictures taken there!” After much consideration we chose Boone because of the many amazing areas to take in the views and really wanted the mountain views to be a highlight of the engagement session.
Exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains
We started out exploring Moses Cone Memorial Park and found the perfect spot to have a little picnic, complete with cheese, fruit and wine! I really love taking the time to sit down and relax a bit during an engagement session, it makes it less about getting the perfect photo and more about creating the perfect memories. After walking through the beautiful grounds and finding some of that gorgeous light, we went down the Blue Ridge Parkway a little to hike up to one of my favorite overlooks.
It is always fun to explore a trail with each couple, even if I’ve been there before we will see something different and discover new little nooks. Rough Ridge trail is generally an easy hike, and the return on investment is incredible once you get up top and see the view. I’ll never say no to a Blue Ridge Mountains engagement session for this reason! You absolutely feel like you are dancing on the edge of the world.
