Maybe you didn’t know it, but photographers are a picky bunch…at least those I am lucky enough to know! So when you receive an email from another photographer to shoot her Mommy & Me lifestyle session, you…well you have a few different reactions. 1. Wooohooo! This is going to be awesome! 2. OMG. This is going to be terrifying. 3. AWESOME (stop it little self-doubt devil!) So now that you are privy to my inner monologue, I will go ahead and relieve the suspense. Meeting Becky was a joy, and photographing her was easier than I imagined! She is such a loving, tender mother and her sweet little guy had me like putty in his hand.
When you photograph another photographer concerns like optimal lighting, clothing and location kinda just figure themselves out. Becky knew that she wanted to try to catch those last fleeting babyhood moments in her home, and because it was her home…she knew when the light would be perfect 🙂 Mid-day, mid-week and it was almost like I was just coming by for a playdate, sans my kiddos, of course! We were able to talk shop a bit, too, which was a bonus.
