Hi there! Welcome to the  journal about our lives, travels, fashion, and style. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Amy.

Today, you are joining me in my local city, Charlotte, North Carolina for an engagement session. This beautiful couple, Stacy and Taylor knew they wanted photos that truly captured their relationship. They wanted their engagement session to feel authentic to their personalities and not overly posed. Hearing this, of course, made my photographer heart sing! I love capturing natural moments.

Creating a full experience with each session is so important. We decided to adventure throughout Charlotte, choosing artsy and colorful backgrounds with romantic elements. I can’t wait for you to see the results! Let’s take a look at this playful city engagement session in Charlotte together.

Camp North End

To begin the day, we started the session at Camp North End. This space is a previous car factory and military depot so there are a lot of industrial details. Camp North End now acts as an entertainment hub with artistic attractions, food, and shopping! There are so many backdrops to choose from for photos.

Fun fact: I scout the locations for most of my couples’ photography sessions. This is another reason why it is so important to hire a professional photographer. I love finding locations that not only match every unique couple but will translate well through photos. The time of day, travel, and aesthetics are all factors I consider. Camp North End was an easy choice for this couple!

Casual Outfits

For this portion of the engagement session, Stacy and Taylor kept their outfits casual and stylish. This is the first of two outfits they brought along for their session. How cool are Stacy’s pants? If you aren’t sure what to wear for your engagement photos, gather ideas from your location. The couple wore mostly neutrals, but this lavender color transitioned so well throughout the different spaces onsite. They also brought along some playful sunglasses to accessorize!

The couple looked great not only because of their outfits, but because they felt great! You can see how joyful and comfortable they are. I know being in front of the camera can be nerve-racking, but it doesn’t have to be. After reading this blog, check out my advice for feeling your best for your engagement session next.

McGill Rose Garden at Rosie’s Wine Garden

Your engagement session really is like a date! It’s exciting to incorporate some of your favorite things into your session. To complete the day, Stacy and Taylor got dressed up in their second outfits and enjoyed a glass of local wine together. Creating real moments allowed me to capture the photos you see! These are true and natural – none of those obvious poses here! McGill’s Rose Garden at Rosie’s Wine Garden added that element of romance to the engagement session. The florals and plants combined with the dreamy string lights are breathtaking. This space really makes you never want to leave.
