I don’t know about y’all, but I love a beautiful engagement ring as much as the next girl. Before I was a wedding photographer in Charlotte, I was a single girl in Baltimore cutting out pictures of rings from magazines. Yes, I’m dating myself now…that was before the days of Pinterest!!! I seriously kept my favorite magazine scraps in a notebook and just hoped that someday when he decided it was the right time, Will would see it. I guess it is much easier now for girls to send hints, just pin 10,000 images of the same style!
But what if you want something truly unique to you? I have it on good authority that men prefer to have some wiggle room when it comes to the perfect engagement ring. They want to shock you and show you just how much attention they are paying to you and your style. I don’t know about you, but that is romantic in itself! Nothing against the girls that pick out their own rings, but it takes a lot of effort for a man to get it right on something that will be on your hand for the rest of your life! I know that when I’m photographing a wedding and I get to concentrate on the details…I love to see a gorgeous non-traditional engagement ring!
