THE  WEDDING GUIDE

Keep your wedding day running on track with some of my top tips for a stress-free day!

Nothing says summer quite like an outdoor wedding! Brianna and Jason invited their friends and family to Lake Norman in North Carolina to celebrate their special day. The day was focused on quality times with loved ones, good drinks, and fun! From the getting ready photos to sunset, the wedding group was such a joy during photography. This wedding location transformed into a romantic escape with a bright and airy color palette. Ready for more details from this dreamy summer wedding? Keep reading!

Getting Ready

Brianna and Jason got ready for the day alongside their groomsmen and bridesmaid at an onsite lakehouse. As a photographer, I always encourage each couple to make the most of this time before the wedding. Order a special brunch to share with your bridal party and be sure to schedule plenty of time to get ready so you don’t feel rushed!

After capturing details photos, it was time for the getting ready photos. Brianna and her bridesmaids got creative with confetti for their group photo and I love the results. To make your bridesmaids feel extra special, gift them with their own robe to wear the morning of your wedding. Not only is this perfect for photography, but their hair and makeup will remain untouched when it is time to get dressed for the day. Jason and his groomsmen also had a blast getting ready and shared a celebratory drink before the ceremony.

Bridal Party Attire

Let’s talk about this stunning bridal party attire. Brianna and Jason decided to match with their bridal party featuring an all-white and neutral color palette. Each bridesmaid wore a different full-length white gown with a seasonal bouquet. Mauve and blush tones within the wedding day florals added a pop of color. The bridesmaids’ hair and makeup was a natural glam style. Choosing a cohesive color palette can often allow more creativity for the extra stylistic details. Jason’s groomsmen wore matching button-up shirts and dress pants for a classy look.

Bride & Groom

Before the ceremony, the future bride and groom decided to share a first look. Then, they scheduled time to capture the majority of their couple’s photography for the celebrations began. Lake Norman offers so many exciting photography locations to explore!

Brianna wore a full-length wedding dress with lace detail. She accessorized with a diamond headband and a lush floral bouquet. Jason wore neutral dress pants with a matching suit jacket. To keep his style classic yet casual, he opted out of a tie and accessorized with a blush boutonniere.

Lakefront Ceremony

As guests arrived at the lakefront ceremony, they were greeted to the wedding with a wooden welcome sign. The couple continued to decorate with matching wooden signs to line the aisle. A simple wooden cross decorated with a blush, white and green floral arrangement served as the focal point for the ceremony.

Reception Decor

The outdoor reception featured a family-style seating layout with wooden farmhouse tables. Each table was decorated with delicate bud vases and simple tea lights. Brianna and Jacob sat at a matching sweetheart table right in front of the water. After a delicious meal, guests enjoyed a sweet treat from the doughnut bar, and then it was time to dance! As guests enjoyed the party, the newlyweds snuck off for a few more photos with the sunset to end their special day. Lake Norman wedding photos813 scaled -
