Hold on to your jaws. This Castle Ladyhawke destination wedding has my head spinning. Editing this wedding has got me in a fairytale Disney movie from a childhood daydream, and I’m loving every second of it!
About the Bride and Groom
Amanda knew exactly the type of wedding she wanted to plan once she met her prince. Josh and Amanda met in Baltimore MD, and their love took them all over the world. I met Amanda in my sorority at The University of Maryland, we were sisters at Alpha Omicron Pi. When she reached out to me about shooting her wedding, I figured it would be in Maryland where we are both from…boy was I wrong!!! They were planning an amazing destination wedding in North Carolina in the Asheville area!!! Trips to South America, his proposal at sunset on the California coasts and now a beautiful mountainside wedding at a real castle! Their romance has been a fairytale with no end in sight.
About their fairytale Castle Ladyhawke Destination Wedding
They treated their guests to a full itinerary of exploration and local NC treats, to fully indulge in the culture and beautiful scenery available. A gorgeous evening at Bear Lake Reserve provided the backdrop to the welcome dinner as well as the amazing morning-after session within the crystal clear mountain lake waters as the sun rose above the mountain ridge. The wedding ceremony overlooked the Blue Ridge Mountains high above a beautiful valley as seen from Castle Ladyhawke. Stunning maids in dresses of soft pastel hues, and dashing groomsmen stood and smiled as the couple exchanged their handwritten vows before their closest family and friends. A handful of cheerful flower girls in frills and ring bearers with lego boutonnieres cheered the couple on, and even sometimes made their voices heard. The guests were treated to a local beer tasting during the cocktail hour and later watched the sun set over the mountains as the bride and groom took their first dance under the stars in the clear blue twilight.
And don’t worry, I’ll be back tomorrow with an EPIC morning after session that involves crystal clear lake water, canoes and full wedding attire!!!!
