Old Edwards Inn is by far one of my very favorite venues in North Carolina. It has everything from indoor and outdoor event spaces to jawdropping photography locations. For this fall wedding, the couple got to capture photos surrounded by seasonal leaves! After you read this blog, go check out the gallery on my website for even more photo inspiration from this day.
The Venue
First, let’s dive into exactly why I love this venue (beside the views). The Inn and Spa is actually located overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountiains while also remaining close to downtown Highlands. This creates the feeling of a secluded getaway with the convenience of the city. The venue even offers accomodations and onsite cusine checking off that catering “to do” off of your wedding planning list!
You and your wedding party can enjoy the weekend together, pampering at the spa or heading to the gold course. If you are searching for a venue tha that will also host your stay, be sure they have plenty of wedding experience like this location. Detail Photos
Warm oranges and reds, deep greens, pine cones, and feathers really immersed this wedding in the fall season. This couple loved spending time on the details! Even down to the bowties, there is a focus on texture and color. I always adore creating unique flat lay photos for the wedding stationery. For this piece, I was sure to add in their candle favors as well.
First Look & Portraits
Time for the first look and portraits! After getting ready for their big day, the couple met right outside of the venue in this beautiful space. What a sweet moment to share before guests arrive. They captured individual portraits as well to show off their fall wedding styles!
The bride chose an elegant romantic look completed with a tulle veil and sparly heels. To keep warm, she added a matching white fur wrap. Her colorful bouquet popped in contrast with her dress and I can’t get enough of this bridal look! For his wedding attire, the groom wore an emerald and forest green tux with a fun pattern. A feathured boutonierre completed his style for the day.
Bridal Party
After the first look moment, the couple met up with their bridal party overlooking the mountains! They captured photos of their attire. The bridesmaids wore beatiful full length, emrald green gowns while the groomsmen wore chic black tuxes. Along with the bride, each member of her tribe wore a fur wrap in the crisp air. This group had so much posing for photography and unwinding before festivities began.
Couple’s Photos
While they were at the mountain view location onsite, of course we took the opportunity for couple’s photos! If you are already sharing a first look chat with your photographer and wedding planner about completing more photos pre-ceremony. This offers more free time for you and your future spouse to celebrate with guests later.
Ceremony
As guests arrives onsite, they were met with a framed welcome sign to mark the ceremony location. They could sign the guest book decorated with cute seaonal details lie a white pumpkin and pinecones. A rustic fireplace offers a natural backdrop for the ceremony and with a few floral pieces, the decor was complete. The couple said I do, then it was time for the reception!
Reception
The wedding group took the party indoors for a cozy reception. Ambient candles, gold metallics, and fresh fall florals decorated the space. The inn’s string lights and chandelier completed the reception look. After a farm to table dinner, it was time for dessert! Traditional wedding cake, fall pies, and s’mores created a crowd pleasing dessert bar. The couple wrapped up a night of dancing with a sparkler exit.
