Weather

It had rained all week long, some serious soaking rain. I was nervous. Constantly, I was double and triple checking my favorite weather apps. I kept praying that the weather would clear. Katie and Nate would have the outdoor wedding ceremony of their dreams at Morning Glory Farm.

The first rumble of thunder came as we were getting Katie in her dress. I looked up and saw that the bridesmaids had heard. We were all still laughing and smiling. We weren’t allowing anything to bring stress to those moments of anticipation before the first look.

Changing Plans

The anticipation and sweet preparation paid off because when Nate saw Katie he was in awe. They were able to share a sweet private moment before a cloud poured some fresh rain on us. I was starting to go into survival mode. Which, as a photographer is finding where you can take a gazillion photos that still look pretty but don’t result in wet wedding parties. Katie said that she likes the look of umbrella pictures on rainy wedding days…if I had one. Why yes, yes I do have an umbrella (or ten).

A Gorgeous Wedding

The rest of the wedding day was both gorgeous and full of touching moments. The sun came out at the right times and we had an amazing day. Katie’s father gave an emotional speech at the reception. It was followed by a fun gag gift for Nate’s parents to welcome them to the family. DJ George had the dance floor packed from start to finish. The couple made their exit under the stars in a cloud of bubbles!
