Before I became a wedding photographer, I became a mom. You may have come here thinking you were going to hear all about these beautiful, romantic Uptown Charlotte wedding pictures…and you will! But first~a little bit of a backstory as to how I even ended up photographing this wedding for these two incredibly sweet people.
So, like I said, I’m a mom. If you’ve been hanging around this part of the internet for any length of time I’m sure you’ve seen a photo or 10,000 of my children. Point is: becoming a mom is the best experience and yet the most terrifying experience all wrapped up in one. The joy and love you experience is nothing compared to the overwhelming need to keep that child safe. So when I saw a post in a Facebook photography group that Kristen of Burtch Photography was in urgent need of someone to step in for her due to some serious pregnancy complications…I couldn’t help but do whatever I was able. You see, Kristen is an amazing wedding photographer in Kentucky, and she was planning to travel to Charlotte for this wedding, but her precious daughter had other plans and decided she’d rather spend the weekend (and the rest of the pregnancy) in the hospital. Don’t worry– happy ending here, Kristen’s daughter is healthy and happy at home, and I was able to step in and shoot Meredith and Jordan’s intimate Uptown Charlotte wedding 🙂
