Together, Amanda and Amy dreamt up a couple that had strong southern roots but modern city style. The couple met while at Columbia University and bonded over their shared southern heritage. When it was time to plan their wedding they concentrated on blending their heritage with their more modern adult lives and careers in the city. The venue is a 200-year-old manor home that features an eclectic interior design with modern and almost villa-esque decor.
Details of wrought iron, marble and barn wood came together to highlight the diverse styles of the couple. Regal peacocks roamed the estate beside the idyllic wooded stream and manicured boxwoods. The bride wore a simple, yet daringly romantic gown that was the slightest shade of grey to satisfy her need to stray from the “traditional” white wedding. Strong lines and geometry in the gorgeous cake, stationery, and accessories mixed with the whimsical florals and gown paid homage to the brides distinct trilliant cut diamond engagement ring.
