Hi there! Welcome to the  journal about our lives, travels, fashion, and style. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Amy.

Today we are celebrating Emily and Jarrod’s wedding at River Run Country Club in Davidson, North Carolina! If you are planning a summer wedding, you won’t one to miss this one. The couple decorated their wedding with modern tropical foliage and boho details. Combined with their wedding venue location, this tropical chic wedding is so unique. I have to say, this is a Pinterest wedding brought to life! Ready for some wedding inspiration with heartfelt couple’s photos, stunning decor, and plenty of fun? Keep reading!

Details

By now you probably know how much I adore the details as a wedding photographer. The time and thought that goes into each portion of a couple’s special day deserves a moment in the spotlight. Since this wedding day focused on creative foliage, I had to incorporate it into the stationery flat lay photography! This is such a natural way to add texture to a design.

While the couple gets ready for the day alongside their wedding party, I always grab their wedding accessories for a few more detail photos. Tip from a wedding photographer: give your rings, invitation suite, and any other important photography pieces to your wedding planner or a designated wedding party member before the big day. Let your photographer know during your final meeting who will be in charge of these items. That way, all you need to do is relax and soak in each moment!

Getting Ready

Emily and Jarrod got ready alongside their wedding party for the day. I love it when parents or grandparents are also included in these special moments! Be sure to capture some photos with these loved ones for the getting-ready photos.

First Look & Couple’s Photos

After finalizing their wedding styles, it was time for the first look! River Run Country Club offers romantic outdoor locations to explore for couple’s photography. Emily and Jarrod knew they wanted to spend the majority of their day after the ceremony celebrating and dancing with their guests. A first look was the perfect option to provide more room in their timeline later on! Plus, what a sweet time to spend together as future newlyweds before the day truly begins.

After capturing the majority of their couple’s photos, we brought out the sweet pup wedding party members! If you will be including your furry friends in your special day, try to snap some photos at the beginning of the day with them before guests arrive to free from any distractions.

Wedding Attire

Now, for the outfits! Emily wore a fitted gown with a low back and accessorized with metallic jewelry. Her bouquet included a combination of seasonal florals and fresh tropical leaf cuttings with a pop of brushed gold foliage. Her bridesmaids wore dreamy pastel pink gowns and carried matching bouquets.

Jarrod and his groomsmen wore chic navy suits with pink ties and boutonnieres to match the bridesmaids. The group also got a chance to adventure throughout the venue for photography, even capturing some photos in front of the ceremony site.

Ceremony

The ceremony truly immersed this wedding group into a tropical paradise in North Carolina! If you are inspired by the boho look but want a twist, try gathering inspiration from the season. I encourage each couple to look on Pinterest not only for couple’s photography ideas they prefer but for their aesthetic vision. You might even browse through Instagram for local inspiration.

For a summer wedding, this theme was perfect while still complementing the outdoor location at the country club. Alongside their closest family and friends, Emily and Jarrod said, “I do!”

Reception Decor

After the ceremony and a cocktail hour, it was reception time! Emily and Jarrod sat at a sweetheart table in front of the venue’s fireplace. For their reception, the couple added a bit more boho details with extra floral pieces and boho chairs.

Guests sat at round tables after finding their seats with some cute acrylic table cards. While guests mingled, Emily and Jared captured their cake-cutting photos after dinner. Then, the party began!

Dancing & Send-Off

Once the music starts, this can make for some of the best candid photos! This group was such a blast and kept the dancefloor going. When it was time for the grand sparkler send-off, Emily and Jarrod shared one last dance alone while guests lined up outside. What a beautiful day!
